Night of Dark Shadows

Night of Dark Shadows was the second feature film based on the original Dark Shadows series. The first, House of Dark Shadows, was filmed while the series was still in production, but Dark Shadows was off the air when filming began on Night of Dark Shadows.

As with the first film, the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, New York served as Collinwood. The estate is a National Trust Historic Site and is open for tours and event rentals. Several Dark Shadows events for fans have been held at Lyndhurst over the years.

Night of Dark Shadows opened on August 4, 1971. It was David Selby's first feature film. In it, he portrays Quentin Collins, an artist who takes up residence at Collinwood with his wife Tracy, portrayed by Kate Jackson. However, the spirits of the house's previous residents have their own plans for the couple.

Night of Dark Shadows is available on DVD and Blu-ray from retailers such as Amazon (paid links).
