Dark Shadows (2012)

A new Dark Shadows motion picture directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as vampire Barnabas Collins premiered on May 11, 2012.

In March 2011, in response to numerous fan inquiries that we received about David's feelings about the film, he posted some comments on his blog.

David flew to England to work on the film in late June 2011 and was joined by Jonathan Frid (Barnabas Collins), Lara Parker (Angelique), and Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie Evans/Josette duPres), all of whom have cameos. Their experiences are discussed in Kathryn Leigh Scott's book, Return to Collinwood. (David has written about working on the original Dark Shadows in My Shadowed Past.)

On May 25, 2012, David posted some comments on his blog about the experience of filming his cameo and about the film itself.

Dark Shadows (2012) was released on DVD and Blu-ray and is available from retailers such as Amazon (paid link).
