Dark Shadows Island Weekend
The Dark Shadows Festival's Dark Shadows Island Weekend was held April 27-28, 2013 in Coronado, California.
The weekend kicked off with the world premiere of Ansel Faraj's Doctor Mabuse at the Village Theatre. The film features Dark Shadows alumni Jerry Lacy, Lara Parker, and Kathryn Leigh Scott. Christopher Pennock also attended the premiere. Actors were available in the lobby for autographs, and they participated in a Q & A session following the film. A Dark Shadows auction took place following the Q & A, and the evening concluded with a screening of the unaired pilot for the WB reboot of Dark Shadows starring Marley Shelton, Alec Newman, and Jessica Chastain.
David joined the festivities on Sunday at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Spa. The day began with a luncheon followed by door prizes and a Dark Shadows auction. Fans in attendance received some Dark Shadows swag: a Dark Shadows t-shirt and key chain, a Barnabas Collins bobblehead doll, and a CD of music by Dark Shadows composer Bob Cobert. David Selby then took the stage with James Storm on guitar and Chip Selby, David's wife, on piano for a musical performance with lyrics written by David. A Q & A with the cast followed, and the actors were then available for autographs and photos with fans.
